Training can be the single biggest issue for building owners. If the staff employed to look after the control systems do not understand how it works, then problems will become a regular occurrence. Not only do engineers need to understand the controls system they are required to operate, but they will also need to understand how the building functions as well. If staffing levels are frequently changing then the operation of a building can be adversely affected due to the lack of skills in place. A lot of misunderstanding as to where and why a building malfunctions can be placed precisely down to lack of training. It is extremely important to be aware of an engineer’s skill level and what they are able to achieve. To ignore this can and will cause problems within the workplace.
